Committees of the Congregation

In order to plan and see that congregational work and ministry is carried out for the various areas of the congregation's life, the following committees exist. The committees provide for a division of labor and are vital for enabling the congregation to accomplish its purposes and to achieve its goals.

Worship Committee:

To oversee and plan for the congregations worship and music life.

Youth and Family Ministry Committee:

To support the home and family as the primary center for the faith development of children and youth, and to provide programs of faith nurturing ministry to children, confirmation and high school aged youth.

Adult Ministry Committee:

To engage adults in growing as disciples, ministry in faith, being equipped for ministry in daily life, and developing leadership in the congregation.

Evangelism Committee:

To oversee and plan the congregation's efforts to Make Christ Known to the unchurched in the community and to facilitate the welcoming of new members into the congregation.

Social Ministry Committee:

To plan and oversee the congregation's ministry in the area of people's physical and social needs within the congregation, community and world.

Fellowship Committee:

To oversee and plan for events that strengthen the relationships between members as partners in the body of Christ, and provide for food and refreshments as needed.

Mission Committee:

To plan and oversee projects of mission both locally and globally, to provide for mission education, and to assist in the development of inter-Lutheran and ecumenical partnership for mission.

Stewardship Committee:

To plan and oversee the congregation's programs of stewardship, including education, annual financial stewardship campaigns, time and talent program and special fund raising efforts.

Lay Care Committee:

To engage lay congregation members in a ministry of care to the sick and elderly, to inactive members, through programs such as Befrienders and Lay Home Communion visits to shut-ins.

Property Committee:

To provide for maintenance and improvements to all church buildings and grounds.

Historical Committee:

To record the congregation's history, and especially in 2002-2003, to lead the congregation in celebrating its history and heritage.

Long Range Planning Committee:

To assist the council and congregation in visioning short and longer range plans and goals for the future growth and development of the congregation.

Senior High Youth Group:

Meets twice a month for conversation, mutual support, and fun! The group is planning a trip this summer. Come join them!

Older Adult Ministry:

Seeks to provide and promote a full range of programs and services addressing health, social financial and spiritual needs of older adults in our community.

Other organizations within the church

Trinity Lutheran Church Women (TLCW):

TLCW is the name of the Women’s organization of the church. Every woman is a member of TLCW. There are three Bible study groups that meet once a month. These are the Eve Circle, Dorcas Circle and Hannah Circle.

In December, a bake sale is held at the M & I Bank in Adams. They have a friend’s breakfast in April for all the different churches in the area. In May, a salad luncheon for the people in the nursing home.

Arkdale Trinity quilters meet on Tuesday mornings beginning the 2nd Tuesday of September until the 2nd Tuesday of April. Average participation is 12 women ranging in age from 60 to 90 years. The quilt tops are made in the homes and made into quilts at the Fellowship Hall. Women who are unable to help at the church also help to make the tops at home. All material is donated as well as the sewing machines, Five machines are available at the present time. The group on average create 250 quilts in a year, sometimes more. These quilts are sent to Lutheran World Relief , Adams Food Pantry and families in need. They also assemble school kits, health kits, and layettes. This merchandise is shipped in October.

Habitat for Humanity (Adams County):

Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church has been instrumental in the formation of and extremely supportive to the ministry of Habitat for Humanity of Adams County, WI.

Mission:
Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people everywhere from all walks of life, to develop communities with God’s people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent houses in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intended.
